Actually, you can use any monospace font at any point size. Just make sure it's monospace and not proportional.
Examples of fonts to use:
Andale Mono
Lucida Console
Courier
Courier New
Monospace.com (It really is a font, not a website)
OCR Extended (Although this one looks funny)
Terminal (Basically the old ASCII font)
Examples of fonts to avoid:
Book Antiqua
Georgia
Times
Roman
Times New Roman
Arial
Tahoma
Verdana
Personally, I like to use either Notepad++ or Prolix text editor and then cut and paste. Whatever editor you use, just be sure to set the font to a monospace font so that everything can be lined up. The size doesn't matter, it's just personal preference to what you find easy to read. When you cut and paste to the site's input box, you won't be copying any of the formatting, just the characters, spacings, and line returns.
(By formatting, I mean the particular font used, any settings like bold or italic, and the point size of the font.)
