suggestion for tab submitters

The general genre is something of a graveyard. There are hundreds of tabs under it. This makes "surfing" for newer tabs quite challenging. It seems to me if members want their tab to be found then it needs to be classified as something other than general.

Yes I agree. The problem is there were a lot of tabs already posted before the genres were started and all of those were dumped into general. Very few members went back and changed their tabs genre.

I know i have said this before but it would be much easier if everyone agreed on a standard tab form

I assume by tab form you are referring to denoting blows, draws, bends, etc. I personally vote for the following:

Plain number = Blow e.g.: 4
Neg. number = Draw e.g.: -4
Parentheses = Bend e.g.: (9) or (-3)
For Chromatics, # = Slide pushed in. e.g.: 4# or -4#

I agree with pcguyiv It seem to be the most "standard" way to post tabs I've seen for now and since it's used in other sites and books even the beginers (like me) will be able to comprehend it easily.

I would suggest the standard of -3' for a bend

easy to see, easy to type, takes less space than other methods.
