I just now got another virus alert.

I have the forum page set to "my favorites." That's the page I opened when I got the alert.

I just opened "my favorites" and it seems OK here!!!!!!!

What I meant by "my favorites" is my bookmarks...ya know...ALL my favorite websites. I have this this forum bookmarked, and the harptabs home page, too. I got the virus alert when I opened the forum page. It hasn't happened since I posted above.

That`s what I meant, I didn`t have any problems getting here,,,but I recieved an Email from Eucalypt_040 and he said he got a message that Harptabs has closed down,,, so he must have had problems there as well!!!!!

Yesterday while on here I got a box saying that my version of Internet Explorer was old and had a button to click to update, I am using the newest version of IE, I didn't give it much thought though. This morning at 2:36 just after getting on this site my virus protection picked up the following, bloodhound.Exploit.193

Firefox/Google are giving me this notice:

[safebrowsing.clients.google.com]

I wonder how much damage has been done to how many unsavy computer users over the past few days, and how much damage is being done to this site's reputation.

I promise the virus did not follow me here.
I've got an alert on my mac with safari, firefox, and i can only get to certain parts with chrome.

One of my friends did some research and found this site was sometimes reported as an attack site and that it was being blocked by Firefox.

I wonder how many people have tried this site when a virus gets in, and will never try it again.

wasn't there a virus alert a few months ago? is this the same thing? Did that one go away or did nick have to do something?

Firefox doesn't permanently block the site, it justs put up a message warning you about the site and asking you if you wanted to proceed. That's what happened to my friend and he was shocked also being a member on the site. I use internet explorer so I have no firsthand experience of such an event, but I am surprised to hear about it.

I just searched for the harptabs.com on google:

[www.google.com]

Under the link is a message saying the site may harm your computer. Clicking on the link brings up a page saying enter at your own risk. Whatever's going on, it looks like it's getting serious.

Well, on the bright sid, I looked up "bloodhound.Exploit.193" that Yukon mentioned and it's considered a low risk.

Hopefully Nick and the host company can get this fixed soon, as it can be a pain to us regular users and could be a reason for new users not to come back again.

I just now got two more virus alerts.

I don't get it. If our computers can immediately detect and block a virus, why can't the server?
