Waving tip

Waving can help your playing to come out, it's sort of like a vibrato. People just do it for style. Now waving is when you take your hand that isn't holding the harmonica and wave it. This is a dumb example but its the only one I really got, wave you hand like a butterfly, once tyou got that motion then it's all good.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are two types of "waves."

Type #1: The Traditional Wave (or Wah, whichever you prefer)
This is where you use the heel of your hand as the pivot and move your fingers (and possibly the palm of your hand) out away from the harmonica in the butterfly fashion mentioned earlier.

Type #2: The Heel Wave (Sometimes called "Bottoming Out"winking smiley
This is where you use your fingers (which remain wrapped around your other hand) as the pivot point and move the heel of your hand in and out.

Try both and see which one gets the sound you are looking for and/or is easier for you.
