He's great! He's from my old stomping grounds (Riverside, CA), and the Mighty Flyers used to do regular gigs (for a month at a time, a couple of times a year) at a place called Carlos O'Brien's when they weren't touring. Understand they still do this, only at a different venue. All of the serious musicians in the area made it a point to check him out (we called it "going to church"winking smiley.

Memories: Catching Rod at a blues festival at Perris Hill Park in San Bernardino (for my favorite price: Free). The bill that evening was Rod & The Mighty Flyers, William Clarke and his band, and guitarist Smokey Wilson. I was just learning harp at the time, and it was incredible listening to those two harp masters.
