Be Not Afraid

Be Not Afraid
Bob Dufford

 5 -5 6 6 6 6 6 6
You shall cross the barren desert,

 5 -5 6 6 6 -6 6
but you shall not die of thirst

-6 -7 7 7 7 7 7 7
You shall wander far in safety

  -6 -7 7 7 7 7 -7
though you do not know the way

 7 -8 8 8 8 8 8 8 -9
You shall speak your words in foreign lands

 8 -8 8 -8 7 -7
and all will understand

 6 7 7 -8 8 8 -8 7 -8
You shall see the face of God and live

5 6 -6 6
Be not afraid

7 -8 -9 -9 8 -8 7
I go before you always

 7 -5 -6 6 7 -8 7 7 -7 7
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest

5 -5 6 6 6 6 6 6
If you pass through raging waters

5 -5 6 6 6 -6 6
in the sea you shall not drown

-6 -7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7
If you walk amid the burning flames,

-6 -7 7 7 -7
you shall not be harmed

7 -8 8 8 8 8 8 8 -9
If you stand before the pow’r of hell

 8 -8 8 -8 7 -7
and death is at your side,

 6 7 7 -8 8 8 -8 7 -8
know that I am with you through it all.

5 6 -6 6
Be not afraid

7 -8 -9 -9 8 -8 7
I go before you always

 7 -5 -6 6 7 -8 7 7 -7 7
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest

 5 -5 6 6 6
Blessed are your poor,

 5 -5 6 6 6 -6 6
for the kingdom shall be theirs

 -6 -7 7 7 7 7 7
Blest are you that weep and mourn,

-6 -7 7 7 7 -7
for one day you shall laugh

 7 -8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 -9
And if wicked tongues insult and hate you

-8 8 -8 7 -7
all because of me,

 6 7 8 -8 7 -8
blessed, blessed are you!

5 6 -6 6
Be not afraid

7 -8 -9 -9 8 -8 7
I go before you always

 7 -5 -6 6 7 -8 7 7 -7 7
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest

 7 -8 7 7 -7 7
And I will give you rest
