Music & Lyrics by Saxie Dowell

 7 -6 7 -7 -6 6 7 5
Playmate, come out and play with me

 6 -6 6 6 -8 -7
And bring your dollies, three.

  6 -6 6 6 8 7
Climb up my apple tree.

 7 7 7 7 -6
Look down my rain barrell,

  7 -7 -6 6 7 5
Slide down my cellar door

 6 -6 6 6 -8 -7 6 -6 -7 7
And we'll be jolly friends forever more.

 7 7 7 -6 -5 -6 6
She couldn't come out and play

 7 7 -6 -5 -6 6
It was a sunny day.

 7 7 -6 -5 -6 6 7 5
With tearful eye she breathed a sigh

 6 6 -7 -4 5 4
And I could hear her say,

 7 7 7 7 -6
I'm sorry play mate,

7 -7 -6 6 7 5
I cannot play with you

6 -6 6 6 -8 -7
My dollies have the flu,

 6 -6 6 6 8 7
boo hoo, boo hoo, boo hoo.

 7 7 7 7 -6
Ain't got no rain barrel,

 7 -7 -6 6 7 5
ain't got no cellar door.

 6 -6 6 6 -8 -7 6 -6 -7 7
But we'll be jolly friends forever more.
