WILLIE AND THE HAND JIVE
By Johnny Otis

I know a cat named Way Out Wil-lie
-4 -4 -4 -5 -4 -3 3 3 -4
He's got a cool lit-tle chick
-3* -3*-3* -3* -3 -3 -3
called Rock-in' Mil-lie
3 3 3 2 -1
He can walk and stroll and Su-sie Q
4 4 4 4 4 4 -5 4 -3*
And do that cra-zy hand jive too
3 -4 -5 -4 3 3 3 2-1

Pa pa told Wil lie, you'll ruin my home
-4 -4 -4 -5 -4 -3 3 3 -4
You and that hand jive has got to go
-3* -3* -3 -3 3 3 3 3 2-1
Wil-lie said, Pa-pa, don't put me down
4 4 4 4 4 4 -5 4 -3*
They're do-in' the hand jive all ov-er town
3 -4 -4 -5 -4 3 3 3 3 2-1
Hand jive, hand jive, hand jive,
-3* 3 -3* 3 -3* -3
do-in' that cra-zy hand jive
-5 -5 4 -3* -3 3 3

Mama, Mama look at Uncle Joe
He's doin' that hand jive with sister Flo
Grandma gave baby sister a dime
Said, do that hand jive one more time

Well, the doctor and the lawyer and Indian chief
They all dig that crazy beat
Way Out Willie gave 'em all a treat
When he did that hand jive with his feet

Hand jive, hand jive, hand jive,
do-in' that cra-zy hand jive

Willie and Nillie got married last fall
They had a little Willie Junior, and a-that ain't all
You know, the baby got famous in his crib, you see
Doin' that hand jive on TV
Hand jive, hand jive, hand jive,
do-in' that cra-zy hand jive
