Some-times I think a-bout

 5 5 -4 5 -3
Old folks back home

 5 6 5 6
That twelve mile road

That I used to roam

Chorus:
 -7 -7 -7 -6 6 5
Some-times I think a-bout

 5 6 5 6 5 -6
That girl named Wil-lie Jean

  5 -4 5 -4 -4 -4 -3
Wond-‘rin’ if she made it down

To New Or-leans

When-e-ver I think a-bout

The folks back there

 5 6 5 6 5 6
You know I won-der if

Chouus:
Sometimes I think about
That girl named Willie Jean
Wondering if she made it down
To New Orleans

5 6 5 6 6 5 6
We used to watch the boats roll

 6 5 6 5 6
From a grass-y bank

 -7 -7 -7 -7 -6
Drink-ing hot wa-ter

 -7 -6 -7 -7 -7 -6 -7
From a rail-road fill-ing tank

Chorus:
Sometimes I think about
That girl named Willie Jean
Wondering if she made it down
To New Orleans

 5 6 5 6 5
The folks back there say

 6 5 6 5 6
Why you come to home

-7 -7 -6 -7
Now here I am

 -7 -7 -7 -7 -7 -7 -7 -7
Sit-ting here on this coun-ty farm

Chorus:
Sometimes I think about
That girl named Willie Jean
Wondering if she made it down
To New Orleans

-7 -7 -7 -7 8 8 8 -7
Oh, Wil-lie Jean, Wil-lie Jean

 -7 -6 -7 5 8 8 -8 8 -7
Won’t you come back, come back to me

 -7 -6 -7 5
Here I am

 8 8 8 8 8 8 8
Sit-ting on this coun-ty farm

Wil-lie Jean, Wil-lie Jean

  8 8 8 8
Would you come back

 -7 -6 -7 5 5
Come on, help me now
