[V2]
 O Freude über Freude,
 die Trennung ist vorbei!
 Gott selbst durchbricht die Mauer,
 nun sind wir endlich frei.
Nun kann uns nichts mehr hindern
 mit Gott vereint zu sein.
 Wer sich vor Jesus beuget,
 darf Gottes Kind jetzt sein.

[V3]
 O Freude über Freude,
 die Gnadenzeit bricht an!
 Nicht eignes Tun ist nötig,
um sich zu Gott zu nahn.
 Er selbst ist ja gekommen,
 in Jesus, seinem Sohn.
 Wer sich vor Jesus beuget,
 hat Gottes Ja zum Lohn.
