[V1]
.6 7 -8 8 9 -9 9 8
 O wen-de dich zu Je-sus hin,
.7 -6 -8 7 -7 7.. .
 zu Ihm, zu Ihm al-lein!
. 8 -8 7 -7 7 -9 8 -8
Dann bringt Sein Le-ben dir Ge-winn,
. 7 -6 -8 7 -7 7.. .
 und du wirst glüc-klich sein.

[V2]
Ach hänge an die Welt dich nicht,
 noch keinem gab sie Glück;
 zu Jesu kehr dein Angesicht
 und blicke nie zurück!

[V3]
Du kannst ja niemals glücklich sein,
 bleibst du dem Heiland fern.
O Herz, geh doch zum Frieden ein,
 nimm Jesum an als Herrn!

[V4]
Wohl singt die Welt von Glück und Glanz,
 von Reichtum, Ehre, Pracht.
Was hilfts? Es wird der Totenkranz
 gar bald für dich gemacht.

[V5]
 Und wenn die Sterbestunde schlägt,
so ist dein Glück ein Spott,
denn keiner von den Engeln trägt
 dich hin zu deinem Gott.

[V6]
Dann ist dein Sterben kein Gewinn,
 es bringt dir ewge Pein.
Drum wende dich zu Jesus hin,
 zu Ihm, zu Ihm allein.
