[V1]
. 4 5 6. -6 6 5 4..
 De-er Hei-land sagt zu mir:
. 4 -4. -4 4 -4 5..
 „Du hast nur we-nig Kraft,
. 4 5 6. -6 6 5 4..
Kind der Schwach-heit, wach und bet,
.4 -4 5. -5 5 -4 4...
 i-ich bin’s der al-les schafft.“

[C]
.6. -6 6 5 7...
 Je-sus zahlt die Schuld,
. 6. -6 6 5 -4...
 Ihm dank ich al-lein;
.6. -6 6 5 7 -7 -6..
Ist die Schuld wie Blut so rot,
. 7 5. -5 5 -4 4..
 nur Je-sus macht sie rein!

[V2]
 Nichts Gutes ist an mir
 für deine Gnade da,
 meine Kleider wasch’ ich weiß
 im Blut von Golgatha.

[V3]
Und steh ich vor dem Thron,
 vollkommen steh’ ich dort,
 „Jesus starb für meine Seel“,
sag’ ich sanft an diesem Ort.
