[V2]
Und ich hört von der Stadt ohne Sorgen,
ohne Leiden und Not ohne Tränen
und dahin alle Herzen sich sehnen,
und einmal, bald einmal bin ich da.
 Halleluja! Da freuen sich alle.
 Alle Zweifel sind gänzlich verschwunden
und wir jubeln im himmlischen Saale.
O mein Freund bald, ja bald bin ich da!

[V3]
Und vom Glanze der goldenen Kronen,
man erzählt uns vom schneeweißen Kleide,
womit Gott uns will alle belohnen,
und einmal, bald einmal bin ich da.
Helleluja! Im Geist will ich singen.
Ich kann hören der Engel Gesänge.
 JUubelklänge dem Herzen entspringen,
denn ich weiß: Bald, ja bald bin ich da!
