FOREVER IS A LONG, LONG TIME
By: Billy Edd Wheeler
Key: Bb

-2 -5 -5 -5 -5 -5 -5 -5 -5*
For-ev-er once seemed a long, long time
 -2 -5*-5* -5 -5* -6
When I was on-ly five
-6 7 7 -7*-7* -5*
And you weren’t ev-en born
-5 -5* -6 -6 -7 -7 -5
I’d go fish-ing ev-‘ry day
-5 7 -6 -5* -5 -5* -5*
And get so tired of hear-ing
-5* -7 7 -6 7 -6
The old-er boys in love
-6 7 7 -7 -7* -5*
Who swore it’s for-ev-er
 5 -3* -3 -3 -3* 4 -3* -3* -3*
When for-ev-er was a long, long time
 -5 -5 -5 -5 5 -5 -5*
Then when I was sev-en-teen
-2 -5* -5* -5 -5* -6
And you were still a kid
-6 7 7 7 -7* -5*
On grad-u-a-tion day
-5* -6 -6 -7 -7 -5
I stood with tear-ful eyes
 -5 -5 7 -6 -5* -5 -5*
Writ-ing vi-o-lets are blue
-5* -7 7 -6 7 -6
For-ev-er I’ll love you
-6 -6 7 7 -7* -7* -5*
To the girl who wore my shirt
  5 -3* -3 -3* 4 -5 -3* -3* -3*
Still for-ev-er seemed a long, long time
 -9 -9 -9 -7 -7 -7* -7* -7* -5 -6
Then I met you, still love did-n’t call me
-6 7 -7 -7* 8 8 -7*
A young man in par-a-dise
-9 -9 -9 -7
We were still young
-7 -7* -7* 7 -5 -6
But now for the first time
-6 7 7 7 -7 -7* -7*
I said, fun-ny how time flies
