Down the Sawdust Trail

  3    4  -4 5 5
There are so many
 -5  -4  -3 -4   4    3
Memories of my childhood
-3”   4     -3   3  -3”
But there’s one that I
 -3  4    -4   5    4
Treasure more than all
4  -4   5   -5
It was the time
-3” -3”  4   -5   5  4
 At the old camp meeting
 5    5  -5 5  -4
That wonderful day
-3   4   -4 5   4
 I heard Jesus call
Chorus:
  4   4   -4  5   -5
Down the sawdust trail
-3” -3”  4   -5   -5  5
 At the old camp meeting
  5    5   5  5     4
Where the sinner’s cry
 5    5    5  -4
Rang with travail
 5   5   6    5   4
How the fire did fall
 5     5     5      -4     4 -3”
When their prayer reached heaven
-3” -3”  4   -5   5  3
 At the old camp meeting
 5   -5   5 -4     4
Down the sawdust trail
Verse 2:
I saw my dear old
Brokenhearted mother
On her knees with her
Head bowed low in prayer
It was for me
That she was praying
Praying that I
Would find Jesus there
(Chorus)
