Animal Fair (chromatic)

ANIMAL FAIR
Traditional children’s song
Key: A
6/8 time

5* 6 6 6 -6*-6* 5* 6
I went to the An-i-mal Fair
 5* 6 6 -6* 5* -5
The birds and beasts were there
 6 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7*
The big ba-boon by the light of the moon
-6* 6 6 6 -6* -5 5*
Was comb-ing his au-burn hair
 5* 6 6 -6* 5* 6
The mon-key he got drunk
 5* 6 6 6 -6*-6* 5* -5
And sat on the el-e-phant's trunk
 6 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7* 7*
The el-e-phant sneezed and fell on his knees
-6* 6 6 6 -6* 7* -7
And what be-came of the monk
-3 -3 -3 -3 -3 -3
The monk, the monk, the monk,

Said a flea to a fly in a flue
Said the flea "Oh what shall we do?"
Said the fly, "Let us flee!"; said the flea, "Let us fly!"
So they flew through a flaw in the flue

I went to the Animal Fair
The birds and the beasts were there
The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his auburn hair

You should have seen the monk
He sat on the elephant's trunk
The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees
And that was the end of the monk
The monk, the monk, the monk,
The monk, the monk, the monk?
