6 6 5 5 6
This old man and me,
 4 -5 -5 -4 -4 -5
Were at the bar and we
-3 5 -3 5 -3 5 -3
Were havin’ us some beers and
 5 -3 5 5 -2
Swapping I don’t cares
6 6 5 5 6 -5 -5
Talkin’ politics, blonde and
 -4 -4 -5
Red-haired chicks
 5 5 5 5 -5
Old dogs and new tricks
 6 5 5 5 5 -2
And habits we ain’t kicked
5 6 5 5 5 6
We talked about God’s grace
 4 -5 -5 -4 4 -5
And all the hell we raised
 5 -3 5 5 -5 6 -3
Then I heard the old man say,
 5 5 5 6 6 -5 4
God is great, beer is good and
 6 6 6 5 5
People Are Crazy
4 6 6 5 5 6
He said "I fought two wars,
4 -5 -5 -4 -4 -5
Been married and divorced"
-3 5 -3 5 -3 5 -3
What brings you to O- hi-o?
5 -3 5 5 -2 4
He said "Damn if I know"
5 6 6 5 5 6
We talked an hour or two
 4 -5 -5 -4 -4 -5
Bout every girl we knew
 5 5 5 5 5 -5
What all we put ‘em through
 5 5 5 5 5 -2
Like two ol’ boys will do
5 6 5 5 5 6
We pondered life and death
4 -5 -5 -4 4 -5
He lit a cigarette
 -3 5 5 5
Said "These damn things
 5 -5 6 -3
Will kill me yet.
 4 5 5 5 6 6 -5 4
But God is great, beer is good and
 6 6 6 5 5
People are crazy"
 5 -7 -7 -6 -6 -7
Last call was two A M,
6 7 7 6 6 7
I said goodbye to him
-5 -6 -6 -6 5 5 -3 -5
I never talked to him a-gain
 6 6 5 5 6
Then one sunny day,
(I saw the old mans face)
 5 -3 -3 5 -3 5 -3
Front page o-bit-u- ar-y,
5 -3 5 5 5 -2 4
He was a millionaire he
(he left his fortune
To some guy he barely knew,
His kids were mad as hell
But me, Im doing well.)
 5 6 5 5 5 6
And I dropped by today,
4 -5 -5 -4 4 -5
To just say thanks and pray,
(I left a six-pack right there
On his grave. And I said,)
 5 5 5 6 6 -5 4
God is great, beer is good, and
6 6 6 5 5
People are crazy.
 5 5 5 6 6 -5 4
God is great, beer is good, and
6 6 6 6 6
People are crazy.
5 5 5 6 6 -5 4
God is great, beer is good, and
6 6 6 5 5
People are crazy.
