CLOSE ENOUGH TO PERFECT FOR ME
By: Carl Chambers
Alabama
Key: G

8 8 8 8 7 8 -8
Some-times her morn-in’ cof-fee's
-8 7 7
way too strong
6 -6 7 7 7 5
And some-times what she says,
5 6 -6 6
she says all wrong
6 7 -8 8 8 -9 8 8 -8
But right or wrong, she's there be-side me
6 -6 7 7 -8 8 7
Like on-ly a friend would be
-6 7 -8 -8 -8 -8 -8 7 -6 7
And that's close e-nough to per-fect for me

6 8 8 8
Now she's been known
7 8 -8 -8 7 7
to wear her pants too tight
6 -6 7 7 7 -5
And drink-in’ puts her out
-5 6 -6 6
just like a light
7 -8 8 8 -9 8 8 -8
Heav-en knows she's not an an-gel
7 7 7 7 -8 8 76-6
But she'd real-ly like to be
-6 7 -8 -8 -8 -8 -8 7 -6 7
And that's close e-nough to per-fect for me

7 -9 -9 -9 8 9 -9
She kiss-es me each morn-in’,
7 8 8 8 -8 -8 7
and smiles her sleep-y smile
7 -9 -9 -9 8 9 -9
And she don't have to say it,
-8 8 -9 -9 -9 -8 -8
I can see it in her eyes
7 -8 8 8 8 -9 -8 -8 -8
Don't you wor-ry a-bout my wom-an
7 7 7 7 -8 8 76-6
What you think she ought to be
7 -8 -8 -8 8 -8 7 -6 7
She's close e-nough to per-fect for me

|~6-67-6|-8 8 |8-87 6-6|7……|7……|

8 8 8 7 8 -8 -8 7 7
Some-times she gets down and starts to cry
6 -6 7 7 7 -5 -5 6 -6 6
But then a-gain a la-dy has the right
7 7 -8 8 8 -9 8 8 -8
She's ev-‘ry-thing I've ev-er want-ed
7 7 7 -8 8 76-6
She's all I'll ev-er need
7 -8 -8 -8 -8 -8 7 -6 7
She's close e-nough to per-fect for me

7 -9 -9 -9 8 9 -9
She kiss-es me each morn-in’,
7 8 8 8 -8 -8 7
and smiles her sleep-y smile
7 -9 -9 -9 8 9 -9
And she don't have to say it,
-8 8 -9 -9 -9 -8 -8
I can see it in her eyes
7 -8 8 8 8 -9 -8 -8 -8
Don't you wor-ry a-bout my wom-an
7 7 7 7 -8 8 76-6
What you think she ought to be
7 -8 -8 -8 8 -8 7 10 10
She's close e-nough to per-fect for me
