This is a great song by the same composer that wrote "beautiful dreamer." The Allison Krauss version is awesome, and it's much slower than the midi I posted.
1.
5 -4 4 -4 5 -4 4 -5 -6 6
Slum-ber my dar-ling, thy moth-er is near,
7 -7 -6 6 -5 5 5 -5 4 -4
Guard-ing thy dreams from all ter-ror and fear.
5 -4 4 -4 5 -4 4 5 -6 6
Sun-light has past and the twi-light has gone,
-6 -7 7 7 -4 -4 5 -4 4 4
Slum-ber my dar-ling, the night's com-ing on.
6 -4 6 -5 5 6 7
Sweet vis-ions at-tend thy sleep,
-4 -4 -4 6 -5 5
Fond-est, dear-est to me,
6 -4 6 -5 5 6 7
While oth-ers their rev-els keep,
-7 -7 -6 -7 -6 6
I will watch ov-er thee.
Refrain:
5 -4 4 -4 5 -4 4 5 -6 6
Slum-ber, my darl-ing, the birds are at rest,
7 -7 -6 6 -5 5 5 -4 4 -4
Wan-der-ing dews by the flowers are car-essed,
5 -4 4 -4 5 -4 4 5 -6 6
Slum-ber, my darl-ing, I'll wrap thee up warm,
-6 -7 7 7 4 -4 5 -4 4 4
Pray that the an-gels will shield thee from harm.
2.
Slumber my darling, till morn's blushing ray
Brings to the world the glad tidings of day:
Fill the dark void with thy dreamy delight--
Slumber, thy mother will guard thee to-night.
Thy pillow shall sacred be
From all outward alarms;
Thou, thou are the world to me
In thine innocent charms.
Refrain:
