Song: Bonaparte's Retreat

Melody Maker harmonica

-6  -7   -8  -8 -8  -6 -7 -8  -7   -6  -5  +5 -4
Met the girl I love in a town way down in  Dixe

-6    -7   -8   -8 -8  -8  -8  -8  -9  -8    -6  -7 -6 -5 +5 -4
Neath the stars above- she was the sweetest girl  I  ever did see

-5  +5 -5  +6  -6 -5  +5  -4  +5   -4  +5 -5 +6 -5  +5
So, I took her in my arms and told her of her many charms

-4 -5    +5   -5   +6  -6 -5    +5    -4  +5 -5+6-5   +5 -4
I kissed her while the fiddle* played the BONAPARTE'S RETREAT

-6  -7   +7   -7   -6    -6 -7  +7  -8 +7  -7   -6
All the world was bright as I held her on that night

-6  -7 +7   -7   -6    -6   -7    -8 -7  -6 -5 +5 -4
and I heard her say, "Don't you** ever   go away" and

-5  +5 -5  +6  -6 -5  +5  -4  +5   -4  +5 -5  +6 -5  +5
So, I held her in my arms and told her of her many charms

-4 -5    +5   -5   +6  -6    -5    +5    -4  +5 -5+6-5   +5 -4
I kissed her while the MOUTH HARP played the BONAPARTE'S RETREAT

*for each verse name the next instrument to take a solo
** often a pause is introduced here
All the draw notes will not be a problem once you get this
tune up to speed. In some spots, like "she was the" it
helps to tongue da da da to play the notes fast enough.
After the last time you can slide from -4 to -8 to end.
