Song: | This is the version that's based on the song 'O Waly, Waly' or 'The water is wide' which Gene has already tabbed in D. It's got tricky parts, in the last verse there are 3 times where the 56 holes must be blown and bent together (56)^. Also in the third line, try to bend the 7 blow to start with then slowly, as you hold the note, unbend it to play the normal 7 blow. Sounds great on harmonica (esp the key change) This is an incredible song! Our only confidence is not in ourselves but in the death of the risen Lord Jesus. What glory, power and love! 4 -5 6 -6 -6 6 -5-4 4 When I survey the wondrous cross 4 -5^ 5 -5^ 6 -6-7-6 6 On which the Prince of Glory died 6 -6 -7 7^7 -7-6 6 -5 -6 My richest gain, I count but loss -6 6 -5-4 4 4 -4 -5 5 -5 And pour contempt on all my pride. 4 -5 6 -6 -6 6 -5-4 4 Forbid it Lord, that I should boast 4 -5^ 5 -5^ 6 -6-7 -6 6 Save in the death of Christ my Lord 6 -6 -7 7^7 -7-6 6 -5 -6 All the vain things that charm me most -6 6 -5-4 4 4 -4 -5 5 -5 I sacrifice them to his blood. 4 -5 6 -6 -6 6 -5-4 4 See from his head, his hands, his feet, 4 -5^ 5 -5^ 6 -6-7-6 6 Sorrow and love flow mingled down 6 -6 -7 7^7 -7-6 6 -5 -6 Did eer such love and sorrow meet -6 6 -5-4 4 4 -4 -5 5 -5 Or thorns compose so rich a crown ?
