i would be really happy if we could make a section on the site with just chordal patterns for people who can't really think exact specific notes while playing guitar at the same time. especially folk players.

For something like that, I'd print out a (folk) song I like and then add my own chords appropiately.
What I mean is if the notes shown look like 3 4 -4 5 5, I'd convert it to look like 235 345 -345 456 456. Put the key right in the middle of the chord.
I don't know if that's the "right way," but that's the way I'd handle it.
