Can somebody help me out here? I added two versions of "Little Cabin in the Wood", and they are all messed up. I tried to go back and fix them, but they look normal when I open them up. I'm confused.

Thanks Nick. Don't know how I goofed them up.

It wasn't you, to display the old tabs correctly I needed to detect when a tab is created in the new editor or the old editor. Your tab didn't have the markers I was looking for so the site thought it was the old editor that created them. I added a new marker which the tab had and it was then fixed to display correctly...

So to sum up it wasn't your fault it was the site.

I don't know, I had a look at some of my more recent tabs and there is about a mile between the lines. I don't see how it's not me when other peoples tabs aren't all screwed up.

Jeff below is a post of mine from another forum topic, if you want you can just do your tab in Notepad and it should work also. Also if you edit any part of the song, even the title, artist, or any of the heading stuff, you must copy and paste the entire song again or it will not look right after you save the edits.

Maybe you can try this, it works for me, (my problem was that I always got double spacing between my lines), Using Microsoft Word set margins at 0" left and 4.25" right,(I have a file saved with those settings so I don't have to set it up each time) set font to courier new and size to 12. I usually just copy and paste lyrics into Word (in which case I hightlight the lyrics and click clear formatting and then set the font and size), but if typing in the lyrics when I get to the end of a line I hit "enter" and do not let it automatically drop down to next line. After adding the numbers above the lines of text I then copy and paste that into Notepad, which is in the accessories menu. From there I copy that and paste into the add a tab box, highlight the entire tab, then I click on clear formatting, then I set the font to courier new and the size to 3(12pt) and then I click "save song" and my tabs come out looking correct. It is extra work but as long as it works at least I can keep posting tabs. Hopefully this helps you also.

For what it's worth, I've tried Scott's method, and that doesn't work for me either. I don't know why.... I just can't get it to work. Comes out with the spacing all FUBARed. The more I try to fix it, the worse it gets. :-/

So I have to come here, enter everything here, copy it from the preview pane and then paste that into the Add A Tab window. That's the only thing I've found that works for me.

Also, there's got to be a hidden formatting "carriage return" or "enter" put in at the end of each line because not only does everybody get double spacing between lines (when there weren't any in their Word document), but it gets put back in at the end of every line every time the "Edit This Song" is hit. Consistantly.

Also, Nick, just posted three Duet songs, and two of them came out fine, but the last one (the Diatonic Duet) some of the lines double back on themselves when the line above the "double-backed line" is fine. The lines are the same length. Why do a few lines double back, while the lines above those stay just fine and as is?
I can't figure it out and I can't seem to fix it.

Here too. there is water falling from the sky. Seems we used to have a name for this.

The lines are wrapping it looks like because they are too long. The site only allows a certain width and then will wrap the text.

Okay, went and made some adjustments to the tabs. Looks better now and no wrapping.
