I know I've seen pictures in the forum threads from time to time, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how it's done. Feeling a bit sheepish as I'm sure it's something simple, but hey, if ya don't ask, ya don't learn nuthin', right?

(Sorry if this is a duplicate of something answered elsewhere, I scanned the threads for awhile but didn't see it)

Click on the icon above the text box that looks like an upside-down envelope next to the blue ball. (Mouse over it, and it will say, "Insert image URL." Then paste the URL of the image there.

If you want to post a picture file from your computer, You could post it first to PhotoBucket, then do that "insert image URL" thing, or you could use the "Post a File" function and do the "insert image URL" thing. The button for "Post a File" is in the menu on the left, in the "Contribute" box.
