I think lumping so many of us in with the really top contributors deminishes their achievements. How 'about adding "Legendary Contributor" for those who have accumulated at least 1,000,000 points?

Right now, that would be Walt, Steve and Tin Can with Aussie coming up on it.

the top 15 are all supers
more than half havent set foot in here in over 3 years!!
and folk who have posted as many as 91 tabs are in the same league as those who have posted more than ten times that??

That ain't gonna happen. We've talked about that before. I can't usually make myself tab stuff my heart ain't in, unless it just happens to be reeeeaaal easy, or somebody melts my heart with a convincing sob story.

Anyway, I think that the top few guys should have some better recognition than what is currently happining...that's my 2 cents worth.

Gene in light of the activities of some of our newest members lately

such as posting BLANK tabs by "the"
i dont think we can make the new level just based on views
i would suggest that there would have to be a minimum
song and forum posting
so that folk like "tenfortyfive" dont just click on their ONE tab till they hit the miracle million point!

i also think by say making it a minimum of 150 tabs for example and 100 posts would also eliminate some of these top 15 getting "immortalized" when they have not set foot in here in AT LEAST the four years that i've been here!! and they would not lose what is in their own right a super contribution ???

You have a point, Tin (Besides the one on top of your head). But you've also made this thing complicated. All I know is that you top (VERY TOP) few deserve some kind of special recognition.-----Or maybe you already have it. Your names and stats are in plain view for all to see.

I was hoping for flashing neon, but, as you say the level of accomplishment is already there in ranking and points. However some kind of recognition should be given to those select two who really help this site; namely Gene for the tireless work he does on behalf of all those whose questions he answers and requests he tabs and Tin for all the good will he brings when he graces us with his presence. It's as if this site is hibernating when he's away. So, if there is a special ranking, those two would be my hands down choice.

That's a big wad of BS. I ain't nuthin'. There are plenty of others who answer questions and I don't really answer all that many requests. I think the neon should go to you and Tin (I wish we knew his name) for sure, and probably Aussie and Steve, who have about 500 tabs.

Ya know what, though? If I'm here for another 20 years, I'll have 500 tabs, too. 500 tabs in 20 years is not much of an accomplishment. Perhaps the number of tabs posted in a certain amount of time should be considered.

Ah heck. This is to complicated...How 'bout members nominate/vote on "Member of the Month", Member of the Year" and "All-Time Member"?...Or leave it up to Nick's descretion?

there are plenty of ways of doing it
and if u ask wally and I im sure (at least i know i would)
help you get there rapidly

its all a question of how much time your prepared to put to it
and its a question of ensuring that your tabs are ACCURATE AND COMPLETE!!
