Harmonica proof lipstick?? Any ideas? I know lipstains, but I've only been able to find lipstains in gloss and I try to stay away from gloss. Any help would be great, thanks!

Hi Heather. I've been told that it's okay to wear chapstic, or, similarly, lipstick, in that it "won't get into the slide or mouthpiece of the harp". Although I don't wear lipstick while playing, I have, on a few occasions, had to wear a medicated lip balm. The harps survived the lip balm, however, I also had a polishing cloth there to wipe away any residue left on the harp (which was frequently). So, I didn't give it much opportunity to get into the harp.

Usually I have a bottle of water next to me, and I just take a couple of swigs between songs. Keeps one hydrated.
