hole 8 + 9 inhale

When i inhale through holes 8 and 9 the notes dont sound right and often choke out. i dont think there is anything wrong with my harmonica but i am not sure. any suggestions?

With my harmonica i've noticed that when i want to play '-9' it sounds choked too.
What i did was while inhaling 9, i pointed my tongue to the top of my mouth, and it sounded perfect.
i don't know why this happens, but it works great

Putting your tongue at the top of your mouth changes the air flow in your mouth and probably is what cause the better sound. That is very interesting to know.
