hello, i am 18 years old and have just taken up harmonica in the last month, b/c of Bob Dylan he is the best. I am playing single notes and melodies pretty well now, but i was wondering how get to the level to play blues jams and the kind of stuff Bob plays in his songs? I have a diatonic harp in the key of G. Thanks

Just keep practicing, i would say start to work on bends. Once you get good at bends you will be able to play the Blues and the Bob Dylan music. Blues is insainly easy if you know how to bend, so I would work on that before I moved on to the Bob Dylan music which is a little more complicated, but that is just my humble advice.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you iblow. I find that Neil Young personified what the harp is all about; fierce independence, the ability to pour your soul into everyone who hears your wailing, a semi-hobo lifestyle, and the ability to fight ninjas. Thank you.
