improvise, why do a duplicate of someonelse's ideas. Put your own spin on it. Hell every time I see a show of someone I listen to they never do the solos the same as on the recordings close but not the same.

It`s great to improvise a solo to a song almost everybody does it, but I
think a riff to a song is as important as the words to make the song
what it is. Could you imagine "Mannish Boy" "Spoonful" "Low Rider "and "Smokestack Lightning" with completly different riffs . It would make them different songs altogether.
