I got the audix fireball v for Christmas, and I'll put it this way: PROS: It is very clean and reproduces the sound you put into it. CONS: It is very clean and reproduces the sound you put into it,
This mic will broadcast your mistakes, so get your accoustic tone down before you use a quality mic.

Audix Fireball: I'm glad somebody brought it up. I have a suggestion for it.

OK, this thing is a big round ball of wire mesh at the end of the mic body. If you want to cup it and use hand effects, I suggest wrapping black electric tape around the bottom half of it, starting at that metal band. This will enable you to get a better seal, and it does not hurt it's fine looks.

And yes, the Fireball does reproduce the sound very nicely.

I'm still grateful to Sully for the advice he gave me concerning this mic in this thread.

Love my FV !!! provides choices, bullits have one goal blues, but there is so much great music to play, tonal choices. Plus to hear someone play a Clean Shure SM57 and rock out through an amp and effects check out.
